2021 Rosé of Grenache

About two miles down the road from our estate, tucked into the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains, sits the pristine Lakeview Vineyard. This little site is home to some of the most delicious Grenache we’ve tasted (must be those well-draining gravel and alluvial soils deposited by the nearby Russian River!). The winemaking team all agreed—this is the stuff of stupendous rosé. And a real beauty was born. Boasting a soft coral hue and perfumed notes of peach blossom and ripe quince, it’s vibrant, mouthwatering, and best sipped poolside with family and friends!

Hand harvested at less than 21 brix to ensure the perfect balance between lusciously sweet fruit character and juicy acidity, our Grenache rosé was sourced from the Lakeview Vineyard just two miles southeast of Saracina Vineyards. Grapes are grown just off the cooling Russian River in well-drained gravel and alluvial soils.

Harvest commenced on Sept. 20 with all fruit destined for the rosé program. After destemming, the whole berries were transferred directly to press for a two-hour soak, then pressed gently to tank. The settled juice was fermented to dryness in small stainless barrels and tanks. The barrel and tank lots were assembled with fine lees in December and left on those lees until two weeks prior to bottling in February 2022.

What we love best about this rosé is its incredible versatility. With a peachy-floral nose, zippy-ripe red berry notes, and lingering, zesty finish, it’s delightful when sipped solo. Mealtime? Try Mediterranean-style grilled fish, a refreshing watermelon and feta salad, or herbed pork tenderloin.
